When you have a dental emergency, it is best to go to the dentist as soon as possible and have an examination immediately after the incident occurs. Emergencies happen at the most inopportune times and cannot be scheduled into an appointment. The most common types of emergencies are tooth pain from a tooth filling falling out, or from an untreated cavity.
In case of an emergency, contact us right away to schedule a visit. If it is sore, you may be able to take an over the counter painkiller to ease the pain until you arrive at the dental office. Swelling may occur and this usually means that there may be an infection. They can be very painful and can cause the skin to feel very warm.
Should something, such as a crown or denture break, do not attempt to re-cement it of fix it on our own. Bring it with you to the emergency appointment.
